| Greetings Friends!
What is it about riding a bicycle that feels so good? Perhaps it’s the connection with our childhood memories of riding a bike; the feeling of freedom, the sensation of flight and the amazing places we could go and go quickly. Flight from responsibilities and our parents too! Balance, speed, the sun and wind in our face are some of the other feelings we enjoy and savor. We still thrive on these sensations and love sharing them with valley locals and guests from around the world. Please join us for a bike ride sometime soon. Not only will you tap into childhood-rooted memories, you’ll be stimulated by learning new skills that will immediately make your time on the bicycle safer and more enjoyable. New skills mean new thrills!
We recently held a women’s mountain biking clinic on the Rim Trail in Snowmass Village and not only did we cover a variety of skills, we had a complete adventure with sun, rain, wind and even a broken chain. Thanks to the six ladies, on their annual adventure reunion trip, who braved the elements to quickly improve their skills and create some smiles, riding sweet singletrack.
Sun Dog Athletics will be hosting our third and final FREE mountain biking clinic on Tuesday, August 3rd at 6:00PM on the Rim Trail in Snowmass Village. This intermediate level clinic will be an outstanding opportunity to improve singletrack riding skills on steeper climbs and descents and tight switchbacks. Please RSVP to me at your earliest convenience to reserve your space.
I’ve had the privilege of road biking this week with a very talented fifteen year old runner and cyclist, who is nationally ranked from Texas. We’re working on road cycling techniques and training aspects on long, epic road rides. What an honor and a thrill to play a small part in a developing athlete’s life and help Schaffer achieve some of his goals. Last week I hosted a bike maintenance clinic at the local Senior Center and am grateful for their interest (and great questions). We really enjoy teaching to all ages and abilities. We'd love to help you attain your athletic goals, maximize your free time and..... feel like a kid again.
Thanks for your time and happy riding!
