Over the past nine years, we've been fortunate to grow to a staff of six instructor/guides, who provide lessons and athletic tours in six aerobic mountain sports; including mountain and road biking, Nordic hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the Aspen/Snowmass and Fruita, CO areas. We've learned and grown from our extensive backgrounds in racing, teaching, guiding and adventuring. Our passion for the sports we teach and guide is very evident and further seperate us from "the pack".

We can customize adventures, either lessons or athletic tours, for one guest to corporate groups up to 50 guests in size. Most of our diverse clientele, ranging from some of America's largest companies to single guests who appreciate individual attention, have really enjoyed and benefited from our athletic programs. In fact, most of our past guests return for more of the same: enjoyment, knowledge and attention to detail each year. Guests also appreciate the latest and greatest outdoor products, courtesy of our partners; Atlas Snow-Shoe Co., Powerbar, Moots Cycles, Fiji Water and Airboard.

Our guests learn to enjoy mountain sports much more safely, quickly and conveniently than they could on their own in the "school of trial and error." They also discover that we have interesting and entertaining personalities to go along with the knowledge we love to share.  All of our instructor/guides, including three native Aspenites, have lived in the Aspen area for a minimum of 20 years and are Medic First Aid/ CPR trained annually. We also are very involved in the Aspen community as volunteers and leaders in organizations such as the Aspen Buddy Program, Aspen Cycling Club and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. 

Sun Dog Athletics was the first company to establish mountain biking camps, clinics and lessons in Fruita, Colorado, one of the country's top singletrack mountain biking destinations near Grand Junction. Now in their eighth season, these programs are still extremely popular in the spring and fall seasons. This past year we welcomed a new staff member, Racer; a lab/golden retriever pup, who happens to be Sun Dog's younger cousin and a descendent of Chopper the "avy dog". Although very busy, Racer is now available to guide tours with Owners, Erik Skarvan and Sun Dog per request. 

Not only did we pick up a new K-9 guide and mascot this last year, but we also unveiled the nation's first Snowshoe and Airboard Adventure, which offers our guests the exhilirating new sport of snow body-boarding, which is super hot in the ski resorts of Europe.
